Six Angolan contemporary artists display their work around the theme “Seeds of Memory” at Expo Milano 2015. The scope is “to explore conceptually the idea of culture, given the impact that the seeds had on the development of society as a starting point. In other words, beginning with the reproductive process of seed aims at approaching and analyzing the reproductive process of culture.”
The work of Francisco Vidal made the opening of the series. Joining machetes, as were used in the war of independence, such as canvasses, the artist re-contextualized them. The lively paintings made on these canvasses, which allude to national symbols were displayed during the first month of the Expo at the gallery of the pavilion.
